See Harry Lose it All!

Hi Everybody,

You may have seen in our last newsletter that I am participating in the World’s Greatest Shave next week. Since then I have been asked by several people, why am I doing this and also how can they help.

Why am I participating in the World’s Greatest Shave?
As you may be aware the Leukaemia Foundation assists approximately 11,500 Australians each year to cope with leukaemias, lymphomas, myeloma and related blood disorders. Anyone who has had or knows of anyone who has one of these disorders will understand the support needed to heal yourself or care for someone. During the course of the last week, well after making the decision to take part in the World’s Greatest Shave, a 13-year-old son of a friend has been diagnosed with leukaemia. If I can help make a difference for Gabe, or anybody else for that matter, by participating in the World’s Greatest Shave then I feel it has been worthwhile.

Actually for me personally I see shaving my head as a very simple thing to do, evidenced by some of the photos below. You will see that I have had a bit of fun with the colour and style of my hair over the years. For many years I have said to Helen, “There are two things that I still have on my bucket list; one of which was to see how I look with blonde hair (you will see from the attached photos that this one has now been ticked off) and the other is to see what being bald looks and feels like,” next week I will be ticking this one off too.

So how can you help?

If you are an individual wanting to donate, I am suggesting for as little as $5, not much more than the cost of a cup of coffee, you can click on this link and make your tax-deductible donation. For any of our corporate colleagues who wish to donate a minimum of $50 we will make a special mention of you in the video that will be sent out following the shave, once again all you need to do is click on this link and make your donation.

I’d really like to thank you for your support and know that the thousands of Australian families affected each year say thanks too. You can look out for the video of the Shave over the next couple of weeks and I look forward to your thoughts on whether blonde, bald or my natural Platinum suit me best.

Until then take care and stay healthy,Regards,
Harry
